Trombonist – Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra
After completing schooling I worked full-time as a chemical laboratory assistant for four years. At that time I realized that I really want to make music as my profession. I would wake up early to practice before going to work and at break times I would sit in my car and play trombone while after work I’d go to rehearsals.
Since quitting that job, I’ve been playing the trombone in the Big Band „Kicks & Sticks“ and „Landes-Jugend-Jazz-Orchester Bayern“ and realize what a great idea it is to bring motivated young people together, who all love to improvise, experiment together and make BigBand music. It is always interesting to me to connect and play with people from other countries and learn from them. I’ve had the pleasure of playing with Trouble X (FunkBand), Barbarossa Big Band, Musikverbandsorchester Untermain, BezirksJugendSinfonieOrchester, and the JungePhilharmonie Würzburg.
I completed my pre-college studies in Frankfurt’s Musikwerkstatt, starting my bachelor’s degree with Nils Wogram after a semester in Lucerne. This was followed later by an exchange semester at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I’ve also taken lessons under Bart van Lier, Jiggs Whigham, Joe Gallardo, Shannon Barnett, Ansgar Striepens, Jürgen Neudert, Geoffroy De Masure, Ilja Reijngoud, Bert Boeren, Erik Van Lier, Martijn Sohier. I’ve attended masterclasses under Mike Stern, Melissa Aldana, Michael Mayo, Ben Wendel, Jojo Mayer, and Joseph Alessi.
I’ve now been accepted to do an exchange Semester in Cologne at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz.
I decided to play in the Jazzaar Project because I heard that we work and play with top musicians on the scene.
