Trombonist – The Jazzaar Festival Latin Band

After an early music education, Max Weber received his first trombone lessons at the age of 9. While still at school, he played in a wide variety of groups, both in jazz/funk/rock bands and big bands, as well as in the classical field in various symphony orchestras. After preliminary studies in jazz and pop in Frankfurt am Main, he transferred to the Musikhochschule in Lucerne to study jazz trombone with Nils Wogram starting in 2019. Before and during his studies he gained experience in bands such as TroubleX, Openbox Project, and Kicks and Sticks as well as in workshops and lessons with Mike Stern, Melissa Aldana, Erik Van Lier, Jojo Mayer, Bart van Lier, and Martin Schippers. In 2021 and 2022, he went to Amsterdam as an exchange student for one semester at the university and then to Cologne for one semester at the HfMT. He can currently be heard with the trio “Matter of Three” and his band “Balter”.

By participating in the Jazzaar Festival 2023 I hope for good cooperation and an interesting exchange of experiences with the lecturers, and fellow musicians, excellent arrangements, and a great concert.
