Flutist – Swiss Youth Gospel Ensemble

Magdalena Popp (*1997) from Baden has been playing the flute since the age of 12 and was already a member of the regional talent program at the age of 14. She is currently completing her master’s degree in instrumental pedagogy at the Lucerne University of Music, majoring in flute under Prof. Pirmin Grehl and Isabelle Schnöller.
She won several prizes at the Swiss Youth Music Competition, as well as at the German Music Competition ‘Jugend Musiziert’.
Her first solo engagements took her to Dresden in September 2021, where she performed together with pianist Stefan Wirth in the chamber concert series of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. As an enthusiastic orchestral musician, she was able to participate in various youth orchestras at an early age, which enabled her to make concert tours to Portugal, England, South Korea, and Scandinavia.
Magdalena joined the SYGE at the Jazzaar Festival 2022 to gain some hands-on experience with Gospel music.
