Guest Artiste, Vocals – Swiss Youth Gospel Ensemble

Singer, songwriter, producer, educator, and author, Gabrielle Goodman has released five CDs and is poised to release her sixth CD entitled Jazz Life. The recording artist and Berklee College voice professor is known for her versatility in singing gospel, R&B, jazz, and even classical music.
Goodman got her first big break singing background with Roberta Flack where they toured Japan with Miles Davis in the 1980s. Since then she has performed throughout the world as a solo and backing vocalist with Flack, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Mary J. Blige, Brian Ferry, Freddie Jackson, Quincy Jones, Norman Connors, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marion Meadows, Patrice Rushen, George Duke, Nancy Wilson, and many others. She also co-wrote the song “You Can Make The Story Right” which appears on Chaka Khan’s Grammy award-winning “The Woman I Am” CD and earned Goodman a top ten ASCAP songwriter’s award.

As a solo recording artist, her jazz CDs on the Verve label respectively entitled, “Travelin Light” and “Until We Love” feature her with former Tonight Show bandleader and guitarist, Kevin Eubanks, bassist, Christian Mcbride, drummer, Terri Lyne Carrington, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Gary Thomas, and Gary Bartz. Her third CD “Angel Eyes” on the Goodness Music label, features her with saxophonist, Walter Beasley and singer/songwriter Armsted Christian on the smooth jazz/soul mélange.
Her other recordings include Songs from The Book and her classical offering Black Portraits.

In addition to writing and recording, Ms. Goodman has performed at many of the world’s prestigious jazz festivals with her own group including the Montreux, the North Sea, Newport jazz festivals, and many others to rave reviews.
Goodman has also appeared in stellar theatrical productions co-starring in “Forever Swing” with Michael Buble, in Maya Angelou’s “King” and in “Ain’t Misbehavin” where she co-starred with Dee Dee Bridgewater. She has appeared as a guest artist with several symphony orchestras throughout the world, singing gospel, classical, and jazz including numerous performances with the Boston Pops under the direction of Keith Lockhart and Charles Floyd, the Baltimore Symphony, the Yamayuri Symphony in Tokyo, Japan, and the Syracuse Symphony.

As an educator, she has also conducted vocal workshops in Spain, China, Japan, and cities throughout the United States. Goodman also authored the book “Vocal Improvisation: Techniques in Jazz, R&B and Gospel Improvisation:”. The versatile artist, educator, and author continues to inspire audiences everywhere with her gift of song.
