Baritone Sax – Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra
I‘m Filippo Valli, born 21 years ago in Lugano, Switzerland, where I lived and studied until the age of 18. Now I’m living in Milan where I am a  bachelor student of jazz at the Civica Music School Claudio Abbado, with the idea to move somewhere else for the Master: I’d like to build up my career as Saxophone Performer with also a specialization in arrangement and composition. In the past I had some interesting experiences with SMUM which is the Modern Music school in Lugano, at the Berklee school in Valencia and I also took part in classes at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia.
In the meantime I’ve achieved my 8th level in Alto Saxophone at the Trinity College. At the moment, besides some records with my group The Drunky Funk, I’m the first Alto in the Big Band of Paolo Tomelleri, and I also belong to the School Big Band of Enrico Intra as a Tenor. Baritone and flute are my instruments when I perform in the band of Gabriele Comeglio. I’m very happy for the opportunity of being counted in the Jazzaar family: an incredible opportunity to play with some of the best and renowned musicians in the world and to get to know other Swiss musicians my age.
