Tenor Saxophonist – Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra

Robert Soltermann is a 19-year-old saxophone player from Bern, Switzerland. He graduated from high school, finished the army service in the Swiss military music last year and is currently preparing for his bachelor’s degree studies in music starting in autumn 2022.

This is Robert’s fourth time participating in the Jazzaar Festival. It is one of the most important musical projects for him because he can experience role models up close, learn from them and get motivation.

His teachers are Daniel Durrer and Mischa Maurer. Robert enjoys listening to Keith Jarrett, Tom Misch, Reuben James or Kendrick Lamar, among others.

He plays and produces in various projects, including the band “Solax” and the duo “The Lobby” with Michael Altorfer.
