
Philipp Hayduk
Trombonist – The Jazzaar Festival Big Band
Philipp Hayduk (*12.06.2001) is a German jazz trombonist from Cologne. He first received classical lessons before discovering his love of jazz at an early age through his parents. Since October 2019, he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Prof. Shannon Barnett and Prof. Florian Ross.
A semester abroad also took him to Lucerne (CH), where he studied with Nils Wogram. He was a multiple 1st prize winner at Jugend Jazzt NRW and became a member of the Jugend Jazz Orchester NRW at the age of 16 and two years later, among other things as 1st trombonist, a member of the Bundesjazzorchester (BuJazzO), with whom he performed in the Cologne and Essen Philharmonic with the renowned WDR Bigband. Furthermore, he plays with the Subway Jazz Orchestra Cologne and with many other ensembles throughout Germany. Concert tours
have taken him to the USA, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. He has also participated in CD productions for the Florian Raepke Bigband, among others. Musically he feels comfortable in many musical situations, so he is a member of the trio LAIKA (with Emilia Golos (p) and Jakob Görris (dr)), which is dedicated to improvised music. and leads his own trio (with Charly Härtel (b) and Joao Raineri (dr)) in which he performs his compositions and adaptations of standards are played. He is also a member of the electro-pop band Poly Radiation.
