Nina Leonor

Singer – The Jazzaar Festival Latin Band

Nina Leonor is a Swiss singer with Filipino roots, born in Geneva and now living in German-speaking Switzerland. Immersed in music from an early age thanks to her music-loving family, she started singing at the age of 4-5 and over the years learned piano, guitar, and bass. Coming from a culturally rich background, Leonor grew up listening to Jazz, R&B, and Soul, then slowly turned to Flamenco and Oriental Music. She studied with Lynn Lisset, then Yael Miller at the AMR-CPMDT in Geneva, and is currently studying with Sarah Büchi and Kristin Berardi at the Lucerne University of Music. With her artist name Nina de León, she participated in several projects in Switzerland such as Helvetiarockt in 2017 and Gustav in 2022, with which she has forged a musical identity. She is currently pursuing her solo project in Flamenco music with touches of R&B, Jazz, and Pop. Polyglot, her music is characterized by songs that switch from English to Spanish, to Tagalog, etc. She also composes her own songs and often relates her personal experiences to her music. In addition to her solo project, she also performs with her jazz duo with Nick Nussbaum, a guitarist from Bern who is also a student at the Lucerne University of Music.
