Singer – The Jazzaar Festival Latin Band

My name is Mink Schwab and I study Jazz at the Lucerne School of Music, whose campus is quite close to where I grew up. I have been more intensely involved with the voice as an instrument since my grammar school days – inspired by being a member of the cast at a youth musical association for several years. My musical experience so far includes various project bands, small ensembles, duos, and choirs (acapella and with band or orchestra). I only got introduced to jazz a few years ago and very quickly realized that this music offers me an immense amount of previously unknown possibilities for expressing myself, which I want to explore and live out. I am looking forward to finally playing with such a large ensemble again at Jazzaar and hope to get to know Cuban music in a new way under the guidance of experienced professionals.
