Isabella Bleisch

Alto Saxophonist – The Jazzaar Festival Big Band

Isabella Bleisch (1998) is originally from Winterthur and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Jazz Composition at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Prior to that, she had successfully completed her bachelor’s degree with a major in jazz saxophone. She has been studying jazz composition with Ed Partyka and David Grottschreiber since the summer of 2022 and previously enjoyed saxophone lessons with John Voirol, Nathanael Su, and Nils Wogram.

As a saxophonist, she is active in several bands. She regularly performs in Lucerne with the jazz quintet Penguin Society and with the Eb-Duo (saxophone duo). As a composer she writes for the Big Band of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, with whom she was also in the studio in the summer of 2022 with her own composition “February Frust”.

At Jazzaar 2023 she wants to use the chance to work with professional musicians from all over the world and hopes to take away as much as possible for her musical path.
