Auditions on January 25, 2020 in Aarau

Participation: FREE OF CHARGE

Attention: All communication will be in English. Participants are required to have a good command of the English Language

Selected participants engage in a week-long rehearsal in on of the two ‘Bandstand Learning with Role Models’ productions playing new compositions and arrangements for one or more live performances.

The productions are supervised and accompanied by an international all-star cast. Both programmes are performed in Aarau with eventual follow-up concerts in other Swiss towns.

Auditions will be held in Aarau for Swiss applicants and online for international candidates. Participants will be selected based on level of musicianship and enthusiasm in jazz and crossover projects.

Jazzaar celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Swiss Youth Ensembles this year!

Tribute to Maynard Ferguson (formerly Neo Soul Rocks!) - the Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra

April 13 -21, 2020

For youth musicians between the ages of 16-26 years old

The Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra directed by Fritz K Renold will play a Tribute to Maynard Ferguson concert featuring alumni of the late Maynard Ferguson Big Band such as Frank Greene – tpt, Eric Miyashiro – tpt, Tom Garling – tb, Christian Jacob – p and many more to be announced.

Youth that play the following instruments may apply.
