The Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra play the original scores written for the WDR recording Some Skunk Funk together with the Brecker Brothers Band Reunion. Enhancing the sections are some top musicians in the international orchestral scene and recording industry.

Directing the ensemble is Pepe Lienhard, Switzerland’s legendary band leader and music director who will also accompany the orchestra as a flautist.
This opportunity to work on this production at such a high level promises an enriching and memorable experience for the young members of the orchestra.

From All Switzerland!

 

Participation Fee: FREE

 

Attention: Participants require a good command of the English Language!

All communication will be in English!

 

Participants engage in a week-long rehearsal of one of two programs with new arrangements for a weekend performance!

Both productions are supervised and accompanied by an international all-star cast.

Auditions 2013 is held to select new candidates and/or if the number of applicants exceed the number of players needed for the orchestras. An additional casting session may be called for to determine soloists among vocalists.

Applicants are requested to prepare for their auditions by learning up a given piece. MP3 play-along recordings and PDFs of lead sheets for different instruments are provided at the password protected Downloads Page.

Lyrics are not included. Vocalists can acquire lyrics to the songs elsewhere in the internet.

Candidates may login with details received per e-mail and download any one of these MP3 play-along recordings from the password protected site.

For the 2013 projects, candidates with the following instruments are required to audition in order to be selected:
